I was so excited to photograph Yaeeun and Ken’s wedding – not only because I got to fly to Melbourne, but because Yaeeun is a dear friend of mine I’ve known for over a decade. We’ve been through a lot of highs and lows, and it was a definite high to see her and Ken joined together and celebrated over a beautiful weekend at a beautiful place. I’m grateful that Yaeeun and Ken trusted me and were comfortable enough to be their cheesy, goofy selves in front of the cameras, and these photos are some of my favourite wedding photos!

Weddings at Scrub Hill

Located about an hour and half out from Melbourne, nestled in between Ballarat and Daylesford, you’ll find the charming Scrub Hill – a perfect wedding venue for a countryside wedding in Victoria. With four different options for ceremony locations both indoor and outdoor, you’ll be able to host up to 150 guests for your ceremony and reception. There’s brilliant spots for photos around Scrub Hill, so you won’t have to travel at all to get amazing photographs while your guests enjoy a canape and cocktail in the shade of the Himalayan tree lawn.

But let’s talk about the best part of the photography experience – it is the perfect spot for sunset. The clean horizon means you get the most out of golden hour while the sun sets, which you and your guests will undoubtedly love.

As of June 2025, a ceremony and reception package at Scrub Hill costs $7,700 for 7 hours – find a full list of inclusions here. Catering is provided by a local hatted restaurant The Surly Goat (and the food and dessert were delicious). There is no accommodation onsite, but it’s an approximately 20 minute drive from Daylesford and Ballarat, so your guests can make a weekend trip out of your wedding. I would highly recommend weddings at Scrub Hill!
