GEORGIE & ALEK’S BRISBANE BACKYARD WEDDING
Backyard weddings are my favourite weddings to be a part of. They’re typically more relaxed, and the couples that do backyard weddings tend to be more chilled and laid back. Not to mention every backyard wedding I’ve seen, the couple has poured out so much of their effort, time, and personality into their space, which really makes them one-of-a-kind and way more memorable and meaningful.
Alright, let me tell you a bit about Georgie and Alek, and the party they hosted. Being a bricklayer, Alek constructed most of the walls, garden beds and pizza oven himself. And with Georgie’s green thumb, she helped fill it all out. And yes, they did use the pizza oven – hiring Riccardo and his team to help out, who used to work at Julius Pizzeria, so you know the pizza was amazing.
The wedding was untraditional, but so were they. Alek donned a fresh cream/beige suit with a funky print shirt, whilst Georgie wrote her vows last minute on her arm. After short-but-sweet ceremony, they went for a quick cruise in Alek’s dad’s vintage Fiat, and chilled out the rest of the evening – but not before a few fun shots around the house, showcasing Alek’s brick walls and Georgie’s lush gardens.
It was a cold night, but the company was warm and the pizzas were hot.
